Special Events at CREW

Wildflower Festival   March 14-15, 2008 
 

March 14th: Wildflower lecture from 7-9 at The Bass Pro Shop with Dr. Gary W. Schmelz and Glen Stacell (co-authors of the book “A Guide to Common Native Wildflowers of Collier County, Florida).

 March 15th: 8:30-12 – Guided Hikes at the CREW Marsh Trailhead with Wildflower experts: Roger Hammer, Dr. Gary Schmelz, Glen Stacell, Dr. George Wilder, Dr. David Cooper. and others.  Nick Bodyen will be leading a guided Butterfly Hike. Native plants & seeds will be available for sale (John Sibling from All Native Garden Center). Also, local exhibitors will be set up (Big Cypress National Preserve, SFWMD, Florida Trails Association, Friends of Six Mile Cypress Slough, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Florida Native Plant Society, Florida Panther Refuge and others).

Annual Wildflower Celebration Draws Enthusiastic Crowd - March 18 - 19, 2005
CREW is well-known for its wildflowers. On any given day in the spring, one can view over 60 species in bloom! Every spring, the CREW Trust hosts a wildflower celebration, complete with guest experts, student art and poetry, guided hikes and exhibits.
