Fire in Florida's Ecosystems

Fire is a natural part of many of Florida's ecosystems. Prescribed burning is an important management tool for land managers. This curriculum teaches students about the important role of fire in natural systems and compares wildfires to prescribed fires.

The Fire in Florida's Ecosystems (FIFE) curriculum workshop was developed by Pandion Systems and funded by the Florida Division of Forestry. The CREW Trust invites Pandion Systems to come to CREW each year to conduct at least one FIFE workshop. These workshops are very interactive and include a tour of areas that have undergone prescribed burns.
